Shipshewana, IN Shipshewana, IN Full-time Full-time $15 - $19 an hour $15 - $19 an hour Yoder Department Store in Shipshewana is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented team member to lead our cashier services department! Our Cashier Services Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the efficient functioning of the cashiering process and checkout register area, guest service as per Company standard, cash register operations (POS), housekeeping, loss prevention, management of cashiering associate team and adherence to all Company Policies/Standards.
Essential Functions:
Ensure the guest receives outstanding service and serves as a company brand ambassador Maintain expert level knowledge of POS system and transaction processing workflow Manage cashier team and the checkout counter activities Monitor cashier team productivity, efficiency and work accuracy Identify, analyze, create and standardize procedures to improve efficiency and work for accuracy; including maintenance and development of corporate policy and procedure manuals Develop and maintain cashier team schedules Interview applicants Conduct new hire training End of day closing process including bank deposit Reconcile cash register transactions and identify and resolve transaction discrepancies as necessary Ensure accurate and efficient completion of all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registers Assumes the responsibility to promote team member growth and participate in coaching strategies, and resolve team member interpersonal conflict through the use of counseling Ensure first line defense against shoplifting.
Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices Any other duties as assigned by management.
Job
Qualifications:
Previous retail, customer service, and cashiering experience required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as department manual; basic math skills, ability to speak effectively with guests.
Must be computer literate.
Must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions Education/Training/
Experience:
Must have, or be in the process of, obtaining a High School Diploma or G.
E.
D.
; retail experience desirable.
Computer skills necessary.
Essential Physical Requirements:
Ability to verbally communicate with associates and guests.
Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
Ability to climb ladders.
This position may require the ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
